I feel like there are some reports and/or stories that you see/read/hear that isn't really newsworthy. Take the royal wedding, for example. More specifically, think about the big deal that the media made about the ring. Yeah, it may have been expensive and it looks nice, but it is really something that is deemed newsworthy? It seems like trivial stuff is thrown into the media when it isn't something that should be publicized as much as some of these "stories" are. Any other good examples?

Keeping to that idea, there's so many ways to troll this thread....

Look at it from a women's perspective, the reason why the royal wedding was such a big deal was because it was the archetypal Cinderella. Women (the stereotype) watch it because they want to imagine themselves in the same position. It's like men watching pornography.

well, the royal wedding was a) a popular topic among americans and b) a good distraction from the turmoil in the middle-east. I don't think we should care about it to be honest, but news networks cover what they have to to get better ratings

everything on the news is just what people want to see. From the anticipating music at the start to the fake work desk and people pretending to look busy in the background.

Just because it doesn't bash the Republicans doesn't mean it's not news. People often confuse opinion with news...

OT: If we were really gonna do news properly, the news programs wouldn't give a shit about ratings. Or pleasing the public. They'd just have the plain, old facts. They wouldn't slant them in any way, shape, or form.
Of course, some knucklehead got the idea awhile back that plain factual news wasn't entertaining.

I don't know a single American who gave a single **** about the Royal Wedding.

They bash everyone else and promote the party that funds them. Their news programming is second to their political commentary; which is most often biased conservative entertainment, not news.

Breaking news:

Scientists recently completed a 15 year study that confirms oxygen is beneficial to human health. But first, Sarah Palin says something just to spite Obama despite the fact that what she's saying is absolutely balls to the walls retarded.

...modes and scales are still useless.

Anything with celebrities for me and everything The Sun newspaper churns out. Also living in a rural part of England the local news is horrible. On BBC after nationwide/worldwide news we have local news and it's things like a man getting a rare coin or a house with grass on the roof
It's not how big your pencil is; it's how you write your name.
