I was laying down some riffs today and I came up with something pretty cool, but it has a really thick texture with multiple guitar parts. Normally I don't bother asking other people how my mixes are, I just use multiple headphones/speakers. But it's really hard not to with something this thick, especially seeing as how I know what to listen for.

My question to you is: Can you hear everything?

Guitar 1 (double tracked L + R)
Guitar 2 (mid octave)
Guitar 3 (high octave)
Bass
and obviously drums

Some of the guitar tracks get muddy and indistinct. How did you pan the guitars?

The first guitar is panned L and R. However the other 2 guitars are just sitting center. Like I said I don't have any experience with a lot of guitar parts, how would you suggest I pan them?

Take the 2 main riffy guitars and pan them hard left and right, and then take either of the other two parts and pan them soft left and right.

No problem Also, I would bring the stereo guitar down when everything comes in, just to bring out the nuances of the other tracks a bit more.
