Hey all,
I own a Martin DCX 1KE guitar currently with the stock Fishman Presys+ preamp and the stock under-saddle pickup. I recently bought a JJB PPS-200P pickup with a third transducer (3 in total).
I tested the pickup by holding the wires against my guitar cord. It sounds great.
However, when I installed it I found that it did not work. I'm assuming that this is a problem with the compatability between the pickup and the preamp on my guitar?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?
Do I need a new preamp for this pickup to work?
The reason why I am changing out the under-saddle pickup for the new piezo pickup is for it's 'percussive response'. Check out the songs (specifically Zed on my YouTube page (sig) and you'll see why the under-saddle pickup doesn't suffice for live gigs (all the songs are recorded with mics).
Thanks,
Jonathan
