so do you use anything on your strings that make them feel or sound better? i am doing a chemistry project and thought i should include random things people use...ex: someone was dumb enough to use WD-40 on thier strings which he then found out that it peals the paint and warps the neck!

Right...

Well that 'fast-fret' stuff makes strings feel smoother, if that helps? I'm not sure what it is actually made of though

eh.fast fret works but makes the strings get a lot gunkier so you basically have to keep using it.

The only real answer to the SG vs Les Paul debate is to get a Flying V and laugh at all the suckers who don't have one.

Hands... nothing else.
Just remember to wipe them down each time you finish playing.
It's an opinion. It's subjective. And I'm right, anyway.

I find rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) very effective for cleaning flatwound strings (I use it on my cello strings all the time and it works wonders). Dunno how it'd fare on roundwounds of the same material.

Dunlop "Ultraglide 65", part of the Dunlop System 65 Kit. Also, used GHS Fast Fret. Neither one lists the ingredients, sorry. I used the Fast Fret a few times, thought it was great, but I was severely allergic to it (common for me). Dunlop stuff is good, but not quite as good as the Fast Fret, but I'm not allergic to it.
