alright i got a seymour duncan dimebucker installed in my dean by the local music store. before i got it in, i could play on the clean channel of my amp at like 2, and it would be plenty loud and just fine. now. i have to have it up to 6 for the same volume, but when i turn my distortion pedal on (set to 1) its ridiculouslyloud. is this a problem with my guitar pickup or my amp it seems? i think either there isnt a good connection from my pickups, or i really may have messed up something in my amp? its a hartke gt100c btww and my dist is a rocktron metal planet. it may take me a couple days to respond. thanks guys

Put a piece of tape on the headstock and write "Gibson" on it.
If done properly, this should quadruple your sustain.
