Ok I want to build an amp but before I try I would like a little easier project to gain some experience something cheap like building an amp in a keg of beer or an altoids tin.
The idea of building an amp came to me when My pc speakers broke

anything can be used as a chassis, even cardboard and duct tape

If you want practice, any radio shack should have those little "build your own radio" kits for under $5

I would prefer something I can use

I'd like some information on this too, I always wanted to dabble in building tube amps or even a solid state amp. Are there any beginner resources for something like this?

Solid state amps are more complex then tube amps. A ruby would be a good begginer amp to build, and is really cheap. Many plans on the web, sorry I don't have a real source/link.
Just call me Julius, J, etc.
Taking an Internet break for a while, will come on when I can.

I looked into it and many people compare it to a gem amp which is better to build and which is cheaper and which is easier also what is the overall price
