Can anyone give me anyone tips, musical wise, how to make a blues song sound blue. B.B. King's main style, is upbeat, catchy, and fun, meant for chillin' to. I'm looking for "Thrill is Gone" sad. When you listen to that, you almost feel sad yourself.

I play mostly electric blues, but I would be open to acoustic tips to. I'd also like tone and effects tips too e.g. distortion vs no distortion.

Thanks,

distortion, something touch sensitive, and just on or slightly past the point of breakup. bends, minor pentatonic scales, and long melodic phrasing are all helpful. neck pickups are totally the way to go.
