i am working on alternate picking from scratch (again =.=), im playing a few exercises i came up with and practice them with a metronome.

i started at 80 bmp, then after 10 minutes go up to 84, and after 10 minutes down to 81, then 85, 82 and so on... i have been doing this for two days and have reached 87 bmp.
now my question is: should i keep it up everyday or rest for a day or two?

thanks

Might as well keep it up every day really but you shouldn't force yourself to keep up with the BPM like that, just move up when you feel like you're ready.

Pretty much this.

When you can play comfortably at a certain speed then (and only then) you're ready to move on. If you feel like you're pushing to play at a certain speed then you're not comfortable. If you can just about do it on a good day then you're not comfortable.

If you can play at that speed and stay relaxed (like it's no big deal to go that fast) then you're probably comfortable.
