I have an Epi SG and when I got it off a guy, he gave it to me in an acoustic gigbag. I have a strat bag though and I'm trying to thing what's better. The acoustic one has more padding and straps to carry on both shoulders and handle. The electric bag is thinner, but a tighter fit (maybe 1cm between the ends of the guitar and ends of the bag. It has a handle and one over the shoulder strap. What's better, the tighter fit (less wiggle room) or more padding? If I go with the electric bag, it's lighter and I can sell the acoustic bag to a guy I know as soon as I want. I'm a bit worried though that maybe the tighter fit will mean increased tension on the set neck guitar, or more vulnerability upon impact on a drop.

tl;dr Epi SG, acoustic or electric gigbag?

Neither. Get a hard case.

SG/LP headstocks are easily breakable.

^this.

When buying a used SG or LP first rule is to ensure it has a good hardshell.
It's an opinion. It's subjective. And I'm right, anyway.
