Looking to improve my chord work. The song can be in a strumming pattern or arpeggio form, I just want to be able to change chords faster. A lot of people suggest songs but they mostly consist of just open chords, I want chords around the fretboard, barre chords, open, dimished, augmented, etc. Joe Satriani did a guitar tutorial where he switched Diminished chords very quick, wish I had a tab of that to learn. Doesn't even have to be a song, tab with guitar chords in key would be good for practice too. Thanks heaps in advance!!

you could just write your own

I know most of my chord practice I just write myself.....

Some pieces are only meant to be played by people with six fingers on their fretting hand. Sorry.

Try anything by Charlie Parker. The chords aren't too difficult, but they're fast.

Look into John Jorgenson's or Django Reinhardt's chord progressions. Gypsy jazz is a great place to learn complex chording.

Some of the barre chords are kinda unnecessary and would probably sound better as open chords, but you can put some embellishments on them to practice.

From what I've gathered, gypsy jazz players typically use very thick picks. It's up to preference though; I haven't studied it well enough to be able to tell you what's best. Forgive my ignorance

Thanks heaps guy, keep them coming. I just want to be able to break out of the typical open minor/major chord arpeggios that Metallica etc use so much.

Traditional gypsy guitars use copper strings, which are more malleable than modern strings. this made it so guitarists had to use very thick picks, and use mostly down strokes for chords or solo work (with some exceptions).

And while i don't find these chords (which are generally only three notes) difficult, I would second trying to learn some, as they are very useful and very fun

Go learn Neon by John Mayer. It's got some interesting chord shapes, quick changes, and it will get you laid.
