Let me get this straight. You're asking a bunch of people who are sitting at their computers, likely due to boredom, what to do for fun.

Play Goldeneye today and you'll just ruin the nostalgia for yourself.

I've got most of the old retro consoles, and I'd recommend a NES over anything

I still can't believe you kids think that the Dreamcast is a retro console.

N64 seems better until you realize how little truly great games there actually were (that's not to say there aren't any, though).

SNES beats it in quality and quantity.

All the people recommending Goldeneye clearly haven't played it recently.

It was groundbreaking in it's day, it sucks balls now.

No contest. I very nearly emptied my bank on a still sealed special edition of the Ocarina of Time a few weeks ago.

This

SNES is a better bargain IMO if you can find games that aren't overpriced

This. Otherwise it would be SNES.

Get SNES. SNES games are still great when you play them today. N64 games can be a bit more dissapointing.

Sega Genesis plus this

This post is awesome and I agree with everything in it.

N64 is the best if you have friends who wanna get down on some Mario Kart, Super Smash, Goldeneye, or Perfect Dark.

Last time I played it was a few months ago and I had a ton of fun that I never got off Halo.

an NES or SNES. Best consoles ever made.

the N64 is good too, but no where near are iconic as the SNES.

Goldeneye is good, but I think Perfect Dark was better.

good N64 games
Goldeneye, Perfect dark, Battle Tanks, Winback, Star Fox 64

Just let me confirm as somebody that still plays a physical Snes, Genesis (Megadrive), and N64, the real thing on a tv with the correct controller is infinitely more rewarding than roms.

I was thinking it would be. Plus I really want to spend this birthday money that I've had for years. The consoles just seem more fun.
