Do you buy into that idea?

I've never been so sure about it. But a lot of people think so. I mean, I do hear women talking about other women more sexually, like "Wow, she's so beautiful." and things like that, and you don't hear guys talking that way as much about other men. But I've always attributed that to guys being more afraid of being labeled gay for saying things like that.

Discuss.

No, I think it just seems that way because it's much more socially acceptable for women to admit it. Plus as men we're probably more likely to attribute sexual connotations to things women say about other women.

If chicks discuss a girl being pretty that's fine.

If guys discuss a guy being fit. That's just damn gay.

This. End thread now before we have an army of guys stating how much they love Kensai.

I would attribute it to the fact that the curvy female form is more aesthetic and thus easier to find attractive than the angular male build, but then I'm a straight male so what the hell do I know.
#10
women say stuff like that so you can say to them "yeh but you're more beautiful" and cheesy stuff like that. though my gf actually goes round saying "i totally would" which i'm kinda happy about... threesome might be on the cards with another girl... hopefully =/

Well I think men are afraid to express things like that due to gender roles.

But also, women are packaged as sex objects and thrust into all of our faces constantly. Naked women are on the covers of magazines. They are selling things in adverts. They are on television. The idea of buying into female sexuality has been driving advertising for a long time. That coupled with the fact that the media says it is acceptable to objectify women and stare at them and judge them based on image probably has an effect on women as well as men, making some women objectify women

I mean, I'm not gay, but saying that you acknowledge that another man isn't a bad looking guy doesn't mean you're homosexual at all. It's self-security about yourself.
For example, a guy in a clothing ad is probably generally more good looking than a homeless man, obviously.

same as above, generally a bisexual girl is accepted far more easily in society than a bisexual man, so they don't hide it as much, plus add in all the pretend bisexuals trying to be "different and interesting"
#15
I voted yes, but I'm basing that entirely on the porn I've watched.

All girls are bisexual. It's a 100% fact. If they say otherwise they are lying.

This. So many teenage girls/scene kids pretend to be bi because its either "cool" or because they want to be different.

Yip.

It's just because it's more socially acceptable for girls to do that sort of thing. I bet if you hung around certain scene kid/emo circles you'd find it was about equal.

Any guy can gauge another man's attractiveness. Most dudes are too obsessed with being macho that they are afraid to admit it.

This isn't really true. As a guy I honestly can't really look at another guy and find what would make him attractive or not. Aside from them being straight up hideous (acne, deformities, etc.) I don't really know how to understand how girls think a guy is cute or not. When it comes to girls though, I can find about 100 different ways to separate them by degrees of attractiveness. I just don't really get it.

You wouldn't be able to say which one is more attractive?

There's some evidence to suggest that female sexuality is more fluid - in general - than male sexuality. If that's the case, bisexuality certainly fits within that paradigm fairly well.
#33
It comes down to the acceptance of modern society. It's "sexy" when two girls are making out or having sex, but "weird" if I guy is. It's how it's been portrayed to the mass majority in society by the media. Sex sells, so would you rather have two girls or two guys going at it? Pretty sure I know the answer to that.
So in short, it's harder for men to admit it. I do hear in the Middle-east it's actually quite acceptable, but correct me if I'm wrong, I just heard that.

I don't think anything other than heterosexuality in the Middle East is quite acceptable, but that's just something I heard as well

Well, the first one is obviously more attractive. But I don't really think either of them are attractive.
That's my point though. You can judge someone's attractiveness without being attractive them per se. Nah mean? But a lot of guys are too scared to say something about a dude's attractiveness. Even if they know Alex Turner rules their pants.

Most girls say they're bisexual because they think it will make guys find them more attractive. When in reality it just makes them look stupid.

Yeah. It's actually part of the female instinct.

Source that. Kthxbai.

OT: Hanging out with people who care very little for current sexual norms, I've seen that experimentation is pretty much equal for men and women. Most of my male friends either identify as gay or straight, while a larger proportion of my female friends are openly bi.

However, that observation is rather unscientific, and limited to the few dozen or so people I regularly party with.

EDIT: TO be clear, in my experience men are just as likely as women to exhibit bisexual behavior, but women are more likely identify as bisexual.
