i have currently acquired an Ibanez RG320 with a Lo-Pro Edge II trem that i brought to my local music shop to be set-up for 12-56 gauge ernie ball strings, it this guitar worth keeping or go for a higher end ibanez with a better trem?

not sure of the differences in Edge trems but willing to listen, all inputs appreciated.

Lo pro edge is nice id keep it for sure. The new Edge 3 is terrible I know from experience so anything lo pro or original edge id keep.

I dont have any experience with the lo-pro personally, but this is a decision you should be making based on how you feel about the instrument, not what a bunch of strangers tell you on a forum. Do you want a new guitar, or do you want to a replacement for your current instrument? Having back up guitars is always really usefull, so if you are just after a new axe why not keep the current one too.

^quite true, but i hear alot of people complaining about the Edge Tremolo systems (EX: Edge III that i wouldn't buy anyway, as i have had nothing good to say about guitars i tried out with it XD) was just wondering as this is my first ibanez and i wanted to see if it was worth keeping (as i am a heavy trem user for the style i play) When i first got it is was HORRIBLY out of tune with the locking nut tightened, (unless i took the 3 Locking nuts off, which defeated the purpose of having a floating trem XD) but if it plays well when i get it back ill keep it.

The lo pro edge II is so new that they have basically no history at this point.

Ibanez is putting the lo pro edge II on a lot of models everything from the 3xx series clear up to some of the prestige models.

We won't know if they're any good for at least another year or two,

EDIT: I know wiki is supposed to be a no no but for this it works

I'm pretty sure TS is talking about the Edge Pro 2, not the Lo-Pro. The Lo-Pro never came on non-Japanese guitars as far as I know.

No, the Edge Zero II is the new trem. The Edge Pro II is old and was discontinued a while ago.

The Edge Pro II is reportedly a step up from the Edge 3, but still not amazing.

no, on my trem is etched into it from the factory 'Lo-Pro Edge II', and below the saddles where the strings enter it says 'licensed under floyd rose patents', anyone have an idea if that trem is any good?

If it looks like the bridge on the far left in this picture, it's the Edge Pro 2. I don't think Ibanez ever made a second version of the Lo-Pro, they just started making the Edge Pro/Edge Pro 2/Edge 3 etc.

And if it is the Edge Pro 2... Well, I've heard they aren't great, but not terrible. Apparently a step up from the Edge 3. Also, I believe the Edge Pro is a direct swap with the Edge Pro 2.
