So, last week I sent out my Roland TD-10 drumset:

In trade for a guitar, since I'm using my acoustic set much more now, and I'm just going to buy triggers to edit MIDI if needed.

Well, it was set to arrive Saturday the 14th, but FedEx decided to park on the side of my house, behind a wall, so I couldn't see there truck from upstairs, so I didn't answer the door, because I thought it was someone selling something. Two minutes later, I check online and there's an update on my email saying "Delivery Exception." Pissed off, I called FedEx to see if I could pick it up on Monday... turns out, their stupid facility is only open Tuesday-Saturday, and I'd have to wait till Tuesday. But wait a second! I was going camping on Tuesday, until Friday! So, I made them hold it at a FedEx store by my house until I could pick it up Thursday (we got home early because it was raining so much our tents were leaking ). Finally, I got to open this beauty...

Jacksons are cool.

I could never get a hang of that super flat radius though. I like a specific neck type unfortunately.

Happy new guitar day! That guitar looks beautiful and definitely keeps the tuning after hours of whammy bar abuse.

EDIT: Ninja'd/

Awesome looking axe thuogh/////that finish is KILLER!

The B2 I had a while back was undoubtably the nicest playing guitar I've ever put my hands on, but for $4900, there's absolutely no way in hell I'm ever buying one for myself. Not necessarily because I can't afford it, but because I'm not spending 5 grand on a guitar, especially considering it wasn't the best SOUNDING guitar I've ever played!

It's definitely a different feel than I was expecting. I remember Jackson necks being thinner and flatter, but this one has some meat to it; my Parker's neck is much flatter in comparison. It weighs quite a bit more than my Les Paul too

I'm not.

LPs aren't that heavy.

My Historic is solid body with no weight relief and weighs under 9 lbs.

very nice

hey what's going on with the neck there? is the neck through bit only on the front half of the body?

EDIT: how thick's the maple top, out of interest? it looks a bit thicker than a veneer, but doesn't look terribly thick either...

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Dave,

I think it's a veneer.

As for your neck question, check out the picture of the guitar in its case looking up the neck and you'll have your answer.

I noticed that too, it's very, very thin if it's a real top. I can't imagine Jackson putting a veneer on a guitar that costs $2800... but I guess you never know.

To be honest, I have no idea. I'm assuming Alnico, but I'm not sure

They sound great in this one, not a huge fan of Nailbombs in the other guitars I've tried (namely, an EBMM JP6 and a Blackmachine B2).

is it real mid humpy like an older lester?

the ceramics are a bit clearer sounding and tighter imo. i had an alnico in my mccarty, it was great for almost anything. also, it sounded great tapped.

yeah... i dunno. I've just heard some people say it's a veneer, and as you say, that's a bit off for such an expensive guitar...
