Test me for my OCR chemistry exam?

Modules C1, C2 and C3.

Throw in physics questions [P1 2 3], as I have that exam on Friday.

I'm doing a sh*t load of past papers. I just need to get my facts straight first.

inb4 TS, go learn the facts.

1) burning fuels is an exothermic reaction. what is meant by exothermic?

2) what is thermal decomposition?

3) steel is an alloy that contains iron and carbon.

iron rusts easier than steel;

write one other way in which iron is better than steel.

hydrogen peroxide isn't nearly as toxic as bleach, you can safely gargle it if you have a cut in your mouth.

you'd probably be safer with 'harder/stonger' for the iron, simply because that's what the marking scheme says, but overall you look prepared (:

make sure you go over the marking schemes as well, they're just as helpful as the exams.

hmm. I think of it like this:

We didn't evolve from chimanzees. We and chimpanzees had a common ancestor. An early hominid underwent divergent speciation and over time, we and chimpanzees came around the same time.

pKa for H3PO4 is 2.6, 6.9 and 11.8. Physological pH in a human is 7.4, how much in % of each form of this acid is there in the human body?

Edit:
2. You have a container (1,27 L) which contains chloride-gas. The pressure is 101300 Pa and temperature 273,15 K. Inside is some Natrium-metal (1,08 g) which reacts with the chloride. The temperature after the reaction rises with 46,3 K. What is the pressure in the container after all the natrium has been consumed?

Exothermic reaction is a chemical reaction which is irreversible and gives off heat or light.

You might want to mention thermal decomposition usually being endothermic.

And for the last one you may want to mention ductility and malleability, they normally got you the marks at GCSE. You could also say that Iron is heavier or harder (on the Moh's scale). The main thing about steel though is that it is more resistant to corrosion (especially ferrous oxide, or rust).

Hope it helped. Aced my GCSE Chem A* last year good luck
