Well, thanks for confirming you know absolutely nothing about PRS guitars.

you must be a virgin to compare that to sex

Meh. The gold hardware does not do it for me..

I hope they don't have the typical 24.75 scale length. That low B would be so loose. But the EMG's would make up for it, probably..

.......not a virgin tyvm ;-) BUT I didn't realize about the neck length....less.....orgasmic

I don't know about you, but having that edge of the V jabbing at my leg and my groin constantly when I play probably isn't better than sex. Unless you like that sorta thing...

I don't think it was meant to be taken literally. Sheesh.

Looks nice, but I'd prefer chrome hardware.

That's what every virgin on UG says.

Yeah, having a short scale for a 7 sucks. I can't even play with a 25.5 seven string. Mine's a 27, and I don't really think I'd go shorter than a 26.5 (The Ibanez RGD series has this..) because I like the tension it keeps.
#12
Doesn't look particularly appealing to me! I would sex a Schecter c-1 over that anyday, but then.. different strokes for different blokes.

Not sex, but I can see where a V fan would dig it.

and the scale length does matter, especially on a 7, regardless of string gauge.

Shorter scale = darker, muddier tone, less tension
Longer scale - brighter, cleaner tone, more tension

muddiness is the last thing you want on a 7, even more so if you plan to drop down to A or G# and add tons of gain.

This.

24.75 is fine for a seven, if you don't use 9 - 60 or something. Ibanez made a 7 on that scale, I can't remember the model name.

No they didn't.

All Ibanez 7s are 25.5 except for the RGD that is 26.5.

That guitar is tacky as hell, and the rounded corners remind me of a fat chick. Which is not sexy.

lol that's terribad.

using heavier strings doesn't help. i'd need a 18-90 on that baby scale.

Just use heavier strings, you pussies... bitching about scale length.

and how do you fix the fret spacing? I suppose we're going to have to shave our fingers down as well

Regarless, gibson is wasting a lot of time with this model, you can get so much better at that price range, anyone who is really buying these is doing it for a name.

I think it's pretty rad. It's very Rock n Roll. Reminds me of Lenny Kravitz

No they didn't.

All Ibanez 7s are 25.5 except for the RGD that is 26.5.
Ibanez AX7521 and AX7221 were 24.75"

They have also made various 27" models.

I am unimpressed. It looks kind of weird... did they shave off the top of the body so the top frets are easier to reach or is that how Gibson's Flying V body always is?

And it doesn't say on their website what the scale length is from what I saw, but it ships with .10-.59 strings so I'm guessing it has a 24.75" scale length.
#24
it's 5 strings short.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Bleh, black guitars arn't appealing to me at all, nor is gold hardware, and nor are gibsons

But I can see how people might like the black beauty vibe of it

Its one of those guitars i like seeing other people play. They don't exaclty match my tone, and they are way to heavy. My back can't handle that, and I'm only 17!

It's the three pickups on a les paul that gets me.

why does everyone hate on the 24,75 scale? i like it pretty much.
also i think this is a good idea from gibson. they seem to finally recognize some of the metal guys, considering im just an average rock guy, out there with OK stock metal guitar. vampire explorer thing had the floyd, this is 7 string and there was this silverburst explorer.
