I'm watching Adventureland right now. Well, to be more specific, I'm taking a break from Adventureland right now, because I just couldn't take the awkwardness in the movie.

I'm at the part where he gets a boner and is coming out of the pool. And it's not that I "identify with him" so much or that I'm "invested in his character," but as soon as everyone sees his erection, I just couldn't take the awkwardness and I had to pause and do something else.

It also happens to me in every Michael Cera movie ever, where he's talking with a girl who obviously likes him and he says ridiculous things and is incapable of making a move.

Does this ever happen to you?

I hate it when things like that happen, just makes me cringe rather than laugh.
I shall grant you three wishes.

None of which will work.

Does the above post enrage, offend or confuse you?

Good.

I like my women how I like my guitars. Curvy and like it when I finger them.

I do that with almost any film/TV I watch. Everyone else laughs yet I'm cringing.
NOPE.
#5
I never really get it in films, but on shows like Dragon's Den, I always feel really uncomfortable when the people giving their pitch get nervous.
#6
Yeah, I used to have to hide my face when watching Extras and the Office. Shit was excruciating.
#8
Nah I totally get it. Even with Friends I do that every once in a while. When you see something so awkward coming that you just have to look away
#9
I did that as a kid, but I can take it now though, and sometimes laugh at it as well.

Its just a film.....?

I find that the awkward stuff people like Gervais write funny. But I will turn Michael Cera off, I ****ing hate that kid.

I get nervous watching Secret Millionaire, probably because I'm an uncharitable bastard.

I enjoy the awkwardness. I also enjoy creating awkwardness in real life situations. Not with like getting a boner or anything, but just like, taking a joke that little bit too far or something.

Which was worse - the "race" episode, or the one with the loser?
#21
I did that with the Office a lot. Some of Steve Carrels stuff was just so cringe worthy.

I reckon the dwarf one and the race one. The bit with Samuel L Jackson. Oh my days.

And the bit in the Maggies apartment. That whole episode is one long cringe.

Yes. My face gets really hot when someone's being awkward. Like that Cera kid. Every time I watch his movies I facepalm. Except, Youth In Revolt was good.

Yeah, this...it's not really funny at all, and not entertaining to watch. Just, what the hell.

For the love of all that is holy...**** off.

OT: I get it mostly in situations like...where someone is sat with their partner's/friend's/someone else's family and they're bullshitting something while getting caught out on every lie and it just descends into a cluster**** of awkwardness.

Yes exactly this!
in one of my modules this year, we all had to a presentation as groups, and when people mucked up they're lines or got really nervous, it always made me cringe, in the same way as when watching Dragon's Den or whatever

I blushed out of embarrassment in the movie theater when "transformer lad" started swinging with the apes in Indiana Jones: Teh Crystal Skull.

Watching "Spartacus: Blood and Boobehs" while having dinner with mom and grandma was kind of awkward too.
