I'm offering to mix, master and generate drum tracks (from your composed MIDI tracks), or any combination of the above absolutely free.

No tricks, if you don't like the result then no big deal. I'm just looking to gain a bit more experience. All i ask is that I may feature the result for streaming or download, your choice, from my website at www.polysync-productions.co.uk (Free promotion!)

I may just take you up on this!
I've got a few tracks I'm demoing atm, would be great to hear someone elses take on one of the mixes. I'll try and get around to doing a clean DI take of one of the songs, at the moment my stuffs recorded through my pedal before the interface.
#3
No worries man, I know recording clean is a pain in the ass, completely changes the feel if you're used to using distortion. I'm sure i can work with your tracks post-pedal, though the DI would be a bit more flexible. Gimme a shout whenever you've something you'd like me to take a look at.

That would be the idea. I still have to put a lot of thought into how it should be done, as there are a ton of different options and stuff. Expect an interest thread on it later tonight where you can voice your opinion.

You seem to be into mastering and stuff, I'm thinking of starting a mixing/mastering competition and am just trying to see if anyone would actually participate. Interested?

I'd be interested in this. It has already been done good two or three times. When I was learning how to mix/master I asked for the tracks from the first two competitions, I practiced using those.
..I was watching my death.

Any way that you remember who ran them? If you do, PM me.

Edit: Sorry about jacking this thread. Continue.

Would you still do it if the guitars and bass were already recorded using a tone? When I record I have a bad habit of doing everything straight thru POD Farm, so all of my tracks have effect on them already.

I would be more than happy if you'd be willing to mix/master despite this

This would be great, I have a POD X3 Pro I can use for any pod farm effects you may have. What DAW are you using? If you could upload the wav's and any other useful things like the project file/pod patches and send me a link it'd be much appreciated and i'll send a mix back to you asap.

Definitely interested, as was pointed out earlier there'd need to be a good method i.e. everyone works from the same source material and a fair system of voting (if it is going to be a competition).

I d be glad to pass you some of my samples for you to work on.

Send them over dude! If you can send me a link to project files/midi/wavs i'll have a shot and send it back.

Thanks for all the replies.

Alright so here is a .rar file:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ebmlolr4r4a4mn6

It includes the following files, guitar left, guitar right, guitar center, bass, and MIDI drum track.

For the left and right guitars, I used POD Farm, and Bulb's preset patch as the tone.

For the bass, again Bulb's preset patch bass tone

The center guitar is using an effect to achieve the old radio sound.

If you need anymore files, please ask me!

Yeah, i'm afraid there's no MIDI drums included in the rar you sent me. Here's what i've got at the moment, feel free to send the drums and any feedback and i'll change it all for you. Thanks a lot for this opportunity!

HOLY. SHIT. That intro start/stop thing you did was so freaking cool!

I like what you did with the drums, but if you could somehow make like a hybrid drum track taking the patterns you used and also my drums and kinda mixing the two to your liking? Or honestly just do what you think sounds best with the drums, as I am not a drummer and have no sense of drumming haha.

Everything up until :27seconds though, do not change the drums, I love it! And you did a good job mastering, it sounds much more heavy and ballsy than my mixes haha

Also, if you could add this into the mix it would be awesome as well (keys)

Sweet! The only thing I have to ask is do you think you could make the snare a bit louder? Idk if it's just me but it sounds a little quiet, but other than that I am loving it haha. I posted it on my soundcloud btw, and added your website to the description of the song.

Here is one song "Overpass"

And "Verbatim"

Kyle, that'd be great. I can't promise it'll be the best, but i'll damn well give it my all!
If you could do the same and drop the .wav's and any relevant midi or other files into a zip/rar file and upload them for me that'd be great. I'll get the track back to you asap.

Enjoy. Hope you like it. If it's cool with you, i'd like to put this on my site. Have you got a title/artist/project name and a little thumbnail image i can use?

Alright awesome, I'll put up a new one later today!

I have a question though, on the first song of mine you mastered, could you possibly redo it more like you did with Overpass? Because I noticed that the guitar parts in Overpass have a lot more "bite" and stand out better. If not, don't worry about it, but if you could that would be sweet!

And question #2, if I were to get vocals for one of these songs in the future, would you master/mix it in for me?
#27
Yeah, think we're on exactly the same page. I was planning on going back to redo the first track. I was also thinking these tracks would be nice with vocals. I know several vocalists I can get over to record if you supply lyrics or something, or if you'd prefer to track everything your end that's cool too.
#28
Sounds great! Looking forwards to hearing the redone first song.

I have a vocalist interested in doing vocals for Soma already, but if you know some that would be interested in doing vocals for Verbatim that would be awesome! I don't have any lyrics though unfortunately, so the vocalists would have to make up some as well unfortunately.

Here is another song I would like you to master
http://www.mediafire.com/?4e2s1n5zgdk11nr

Did you add me on facebook by the way?

The final song/cover is done and uploaded to my soundcloud, i'll put it on dropbox in a minute. I've also re-done Soma which i'll upload and link to you very shortly...

Soma:

Living on a Prayer:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7795225/Living%20on%20a%20Prayer.wav

I've uploaded the tracks my soundcloud and put them in a setlist called 'Mixing/Mastering' that has both the pre and post mixes. Hope you don't mind! Everything is credited as appropriate, but let me know if you'd like me to change it or take them down or anything. And no, i didn't add you on facebook, must be someone else!

Thanks so much man, they both sound great!

For the credits on soundcloud could you change it so it links to my artist page? The URL is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Galactic-Pegasus/202513679771659?sk=app_2405167945
And feel free to allow downloads as well as streaming! Let me know when you post them on your website

I hope your website really takes off and you get some good business going man, I have put a link to your site on all of the songs you mastered for me. As well as posted a link on my fb page!
