So i plan to build a 2x12 based on mesa horizontal 2x12
Its dimentions are
h 17-1/2 Inch
w 30-1/8 inch
d 14-1/2 Inch
but since i'd cutting finger joints and lets say that the length of the fingerjoints is 1/4 inch should i add 1/4+1/4(fingerjoints on each side of the plank) i.e 1/2 inch extra to h and d to mantain the orignal specs because they will be used up in joining the blanks
i think if i dont add that 1/2 inch and cut 1/2 inch from h and d and then join em i'd get 1/2 inch less
so is my thinking correct and i should add them or..?
i am super confused

I made my baffle after I built the box.
Then measured the inside height and width. About 10 times (I measured everything multiple times).

You are correct in adding for the size of the finger joint.
Just measure everything more than once.

Also measure on the front (or back) diagonally both ways to make sure its square.

And does distance b/w the two speakers in the baffle matters?? i cant find any information about where to cut the holes in the baffle

i dont get it the speakers are the same but still there is some foam and a seperation(not fully seperated as you can see but still....)
The foam is to cut down the standing waves i guess

Distanced between the speakers. I don't know about any limits there. I would guess you would want there to be enough wood between them to allow for adequate support for the speakers.

That wood piece going from the front to the back is just a support.

The foam, yeah there is a reason for it. Can't recall the details at the moment though.
