I didn’t even know who he was
A stranger who was sent just because
But he sat down beside me one day
And was the first to talk sense to me
With an age stained face and broken smile
He sat there for a little while
And then he started to talk to me
Told me about his life, what he knows
Tales of happiness and tales of hate
How he was pitiful, how he was great
And I could feel from his tone of voice
That he was truly singing the blues

He said we all live alone
In tattered galaxies
He said we are all broken
Broken beyond repair
In tattered galaxies
In tattered galaxies

I still don’t know who he is today
But the words he spoke won’t go away
Those words still stand true to this moment
The lesson that he taught has been learned
But some things just can’t be prevented
And others just can’t be lamented
For the world is just the same to me
The world is still acting like a brat
And walking with hand-me-down thought
I’m another being left distraught
It doesn’t matter what fables say
Everyone ends up at the bottom

He said we all live alone
In tattered galaxies
He said we are all broken
Broken beyond repair
In tattered galaxies
In tattered galaxies

That man, he warned me of what’s to come
But now his voice is a gentle hum
Because I can’t hear him anymore
The sound of cars is drowning him out

He said we all live alone
In tattered galaxies
He said we are all broken
Broken beyond repair
In tattered galaxies
In tattered galaxies
I'm just like the Jonas Brothers,

I'm no longer relevant and write mediocre music.

I still don’t know who he is today
But the words he spoke won’t go away
Those words still stand true to this moment
The lesson that he taught has been learned
But some things just can’t be prevented
And others just can’t be lamented
