A main difference between punk and pop-punk is that pop-punk vocalists can sing.

I used a chord thing on this site that had the chords being Am, F, C, G, but with a capo on the first fret. Shouldn't that make my answer correct? I have never heard the song. I just relied on these chords. http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/o/onerepublic/apologize_crd.htm

Don't rely on tabs, most of the time they are incorrect. At the very least confirm them by playing along with the song on youtube.
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.

you're close, but listen to it again and you'll hear that it's Cminor, Abadd6, Eb, Bb(1st inversion)

You're right, for some reason I wrote them all down as minor chords
