Hey guys, i am currently recording with the band, and i am using a engl fireball with matching cab.

I have put a sm57 in front and found it to be ok, but when i put 2 mics if front it sounds good and then a ambient makes it even better.

My question is can iu mix the 2 mic together and have that and a ambient left so i can pan the guitat full left and ambient about 60% left to make it sound fuller?

I would just stick each mic on its own mono track in the mix, then you can stick the two close mics far left and the ambient 60% left, and then still be able to apply processing to each mic's signal individually

so like have one at say 100% left another at 90% and then ambient at 60%?

One word: EXPERIMENT!!

And I would recommend recording direct anyway. Sounds brutal as hell, and if you want you can just run it through an amp later, mic it how you want.

Put it in a church and record that.
