hey guys,

looking at getting a new set of headphones, over the head type as i will use them at work mostly, so want good quality tunes day in day out. my last set has done me well for the last 3-3.5 years, a set of JVC, even after a mouse cheweed through one ears cable.

however, i want to look around for a good quality set, what do people recommend?

im currently warming to skullcandy's skullcrushers atm.

I'm personally not a big fan of Skullcandies. My favorite pair of headphones ever were some $30 Yamaha over the ear headphones, but normal wear and tear broke them. Now, I have Sony MDR V150 headphones which were about $40. The cable is incredibly long for headphones but they work very well.

Price range?
Isn't it a pity?
Now, isn't it a shame?

What I've heard is that SC's are very overpriced for what they do.

I have some mid-tier Sennheisers, good range and clarity for what you pay imo.

Many here don't like Skullcandies. I personally do, but they're too expensinve for what they are. I have a 20 dollar pair of sony studio headphones that are awesome.

If you got the cash, go for the higher up Sennheisers.

The skullcandies seem to be a little heavy on the hip and a little light on the quality, don't they?
The only pair of headphones I really like and always come back to is an 8 year old pair of Sonys. I think they were about $20 or something like that, much like TheAbsentOne's

Skullcandy headphones are not quality at all. Refer to the headphones thread.

i searched for a headphones thread, didnt find anything.

im willing to spend around $100 on a decent quality set, these will be my work phones, as i work in an office and dont like listening to the radio so im willing to spend that bit extra for comfort and sound quality.

i have a standetto set of in ear phones that i use for everyday running around playing music on my phone etc that provide great quality sound and bass for in ear type headphones.

the only reason i looked into the skullcandy's is i had never really heard of them and they caught my eye.

ive also heard good things about turtle beaches from xbox gamers etc.

I was really surprised by some Dell XPS headphones I got a few years back. They are in ear but actually stay in really well. For everyday listening those are the set that I go to.

Stay away from Skullcandy if you want any sound quality. I'm a huge fan of Sennheiser. I've had the PXC350 for 2 years now and they've been great.

Huge fan of Sony. You cannot go wrong with MDR-XB700's. Seriously. Go big or go home.
