Search bar was no help, so I decided to make a new thread: I recently purchased a Fender Showmaster with a Fender 2 point synchronized tremolo on it, which is currently set up to float, but I need to be able to switch tunings. Instead of blocking the trem, would it be ok to tighten the springs so that the bridge is resting on the body so it can no longer move back? Obviously I would need to re-setup, but would it be able to intonate correctly and stay in tune? Would I still be able to use the trem to lower the pitch without tuning problems? Much thanks to any help.

Oh, so it's sorta like real-life gaming, then?

Just set it up for the highest tuning you plan to use and the bridge isn't going to go anywhere when you tune down.

Yes. In fact, that is exactly what I do with my Stratocaster.
