i found a decent marshall 18 watt 1974 clone in the classifieds on corksniffer.com.

lol

it's not purple.

it came with the footswitch for the tremolo.

clips or review to follow. going to play later and will report back. i'd rather review it after the mod so i may just do some quick clips.

my plan is to have a ppimv installed, roc8995 sent me the link so i can have it done with no fatalities.

used 2006 amp, wired by nik at ceriatone.

mccraddict will probably approve of the color.

cathbard will want to come over to hang out. i know he won't bring fosters so it's fine. a certain jack daniels tin would be nice though.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

Oh, lovely. I'm kinda disappointed it isn't purple

Didn't know Ceriatone 18w clones were that big. Pictures almost make it seem like a full sized plexi head.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

it's pretty close to the small box heads.

it's 24"x 9" x 8.5"

i may have to lay down my 212 or it will be overhanging on the sides and the harmonics could fall away from the speakers. bad bad bad.

i really have nothing of the sort really but word that the previous owner bought direct and assembled. he never even put a logo on it.

want me to crack it open again?

now it's coo.

just remembered from looking at some older stuff that nik's wiring was a little cleaner.

that amp looks exactly like the nov 2006 revision layout on his site though so no biggie.

we're back too the lil baby amps time of year huh. lololol.

Know what? I'm jealous. Even though that's not normally an amp I'd use.. I'm still jealous.

ya that's the first thing I noticed.

I looked at a whole bunch of pictures on Nik's site and elsewhere.

The only problem is is that there's no way to tell if Nik wired the amp or if someone bought the board and wired up the sockets themselves.

It just seems odd that Nik would leave the heaters like that.

What's wrong with the heater wiring?
#33
there are long runs of black wire only and red wire only sections. u want to minimize the electro magnetic interference by winding up the Red and black as much as you can because red and black EM interference cancel out each other. red &red will make things worse.

you'd ideally want to keep runs of the same wire at the same distance and angle so that the fields cancel equally. There's three different radiating emf sphere angles on the black wires to the preamp tubes.

well it sounds good to me.

great clean amp.

every church should have one.

edit: it's a pretty noiseless amp. you have to turn the vol up to 3:00 on the tremolo channel to get any kind of audible hiss. the rt channel is dead quiet all the way up.

Look at Min, all learning and shit.

Modding that Jet City must have been a hell of a learning experience.

Very nice, I approve. Not a big fan of coloured tolex, black is more practical gigging but still, looks good while it's still new and clean. Rather big box for such a little amp. I'll do a NAD of sorts on my new one once the last component arrives and show you how small a box you actually need.

Fosters is one of the world's great practical jokes.

The only time I ever drank one was in Sacramento. This girl thought she'd buy me one cause I'm Australian. Tasted like horse piss. And I didn't even get a shag for my trouble.
