I have a Jackson RR3 running into a Crate Shockwave head with a Line Spider III cab and whenever I'm using distortion with my bridge pickup turned up at all I get a ton of feedback whenever I'm not playing does anyone know what the problem could be?

how far from the amp are you?

Are you facing the amp?

How high is your gain set?

Feed back when you play? When you mute the strings?

could be a whole bunch of stuff really

you could have other electric interference... you have a bunch of electronics on near your guitar? or another person playing guitar with you next to you?
Where's Waldo?

Regardless of distance from the amp, Facing towards or away, Muting the strings or not I have feedback, My gain is at 8, but even if I turn it down to nothing I get feedback. but as long as the strings are holding a note It has no problems. and yes I play in a band so usually there are other amps around mine, but even when I'm playing it with nothing around it in my garage it does the same thing.

back the gain way down from there. running gain cranked is a recipe for disaster. see if backing it way off helps (I had a randall that couldn't run above 7 without a similar issue)
