Sarah Palin: Paul Revere warned the British against taking our guns, or something...

3 years after that Katie Couric interview, you'd think she'd have learned how to form coherent thoughts and translate them into words.

It just goes to show, the people who most readily wrap themselves in the flag and make a fetish out of the Founding Fathers are often the least knowledgeable about this country's actual history.

God, I hope this woman runs for President.

While that'd be hilarious, I doubt it's worth the risk.

You keep seeing songs like KoC, SMBH, and Hysteria showing up on games, but I want Micro Cuts on either Rock Band or Sing Star. I want to see numerous masses of kids staring at the tv wondering what the hell they're supposed to do.

Just like the dickheads over here with the southern cross tattoo and the flag capes. Not a fucking clue what any of it represents.

Cos it would be hilarious?

Plus, if you're a Democrat, EASIEST WIN EVER!

I feel sorry for the level headed, sane Republicans though.

We appreciate the sympathy.

But fuck me sideways, what a mouth that woman has.

I wonder if Palin's ever heard the old saying that patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel. As a libertarian, if she was to become President of the USA I'm looking at real estate prices on Neptune.

I have a theory about southern cross tattoos - people who have them are also the least likely to be able to point out the constellation in the sky.

I have three mates who have them, only one can. He's also a card carrying homo, so I don't really know how to define him.

People take that quote out of context. I'm not saying that as a defense of patriotism, just sayin' brah.

I didnt...really even understand what she was saying.

I watched it five times and couldn't understand her.

WHAT IS SHE SAYING?? What is the message that she is trying to express???

That would be sad. Running under a campaign of "at least I'm not the other candidate" is a great way to maintain the status quo.

I've said it before.

If this women gets to be president every American I pass is going to get a slap from me.

She just sounds like a drunk aunt at a wedding or something in the video.

They definitely do yell at each other.

I don't know what it's like over where you are, but every now and then I catch Parliamentary question time on TV. Makes me facepalm so hard. It's hard to believe that these children are actually running the country.

I remember in primary school where they let the students do a mock parliament, was pretty much everyone saying rabble rabble rabble from what we saw on tv.

It's difficult to say if Palin is serious about a presidential run. Many pundits have pointed out that her one-sentence platitudes are not only dumb, but just plain wrong. Her grasp of American history, history in general, and world affairs all seem almost comically bad.
Yet, a certain other Republican candidate did quite well for himself by appearing to be a dunderhead who was also personable and charming.
I heard many comments about "Dubya" to the effect.... "He seems like the kind of guy you could sit down and have a beer with." "Someone you could have over for a barbeque." That sort of thing.
Not the qualities you'd want, perhaps, in the "leader of the free world."
Yet....
About Palin, when she was campaigning for Vice-President, you heard comments from her supporters like.... "She's a mom." "She's just like us."...... Again, these are not qualities we'd normally think of as desireable in a president.
Still, there's a segment of the population that finds such things appealing.

America, A 'Free' Nation

The worlds first, and longest-running, reality TV show...

Spawning such spin-offs as Sarah Palin's Alaska, FOX news, Meet The Press...

Being the basis for such hit movies as Frost-Nixon...

Might just be cancelled if this... Neanderthal... Becomes president.

In terms of historical accuracy, Sarah Palin ranks somewhere between Disney movies and American textbooks.

Fix'd

Every textbook I've read said something similar to what Palin said about Paul Revere.

Oh you American's and your silly politics. Over here all we got are MPs with soft spots for rent boys, duck houses and blaming their wifes for speeding fines.

*sigh*

...The fuck did she just say?

Seriously, the nearest thing I could come to understanding what she tried to say is that Paul Revere was some sort of superman who managed to ring out "You will not take our guns and freedom" in morse code or otherwise used percussion to tell the British that, didn't warn any Americans, fired the shot heard round the world, then held off the entire British army singlehandedly.

Now that'd be an awesome movie, but that is disturbing coming from a presidential candidate.
