This is my first post here. These lyrics I wrote while listening to Queens of the Stone Age and are meant to be kind of psychedelic. One of my favorite of some 50+ lyrics I've written in the last 6 months. Most of what I write is very personal or political; this would be an exception.

Mango Tree (written 5/16/11)

The sun is out to crucify me,
Chasing me down like a banshee,
Only place to hide is under the mango tree.

Pluck the day because the day is ripe,
Journey to the ends of your mind,
Fill the hollow within yourself with love.

Know the tree will shelter our children yet,
Another life awaits us when we go,
Realize the white rat is your father,

The monkeys sprawl along the tree,
Coexist and live in harmony,
We are one in this place can't you see?

The rain is out to drown me,
Hunting me down like an angry bee,
Only place to hide is under the mango tree.

Hand in hand we dance around the mango tree,
Eating the king of fruit as ripe as can be,
We are living in this memory,
Dancing around the mango tree.
it looks more like a poem to me.. if not then thers just too much rhyming. i like a couple lines here n ther but its needs work.. using mango tree as a metaphor is quite good though, keep on writing
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I write poetry
And it sucks.
