Hey Pit,

Let say you are a teenager who still lives with their parents and has a bank account with $5000. Your parents add $50-100 each month, but all these money are intended to be used for the future (e.g. saving up for a car, an apartment, University, etc). Would you buy your dream guitar with these money? Could be a $500 guitar too.

Nope...
Future>guitar
Also, if you take advantage of that money to do something you love (and perhaps could make your profession of later), you could earn more money, and then buy a guitar...

Wow, you're getting free money from your parents to live off of in the future, what a lazy pussy.
It's not my situation, I was just asking. I'm 23, University student, earned some money myself etc.
#6
That's my current situation, except it's me adding to it, not my parents. And yes, I'm going to use a good portion of that money to buy a guitar.

Sounds like it'd be their bank account, not yours.

Hell no. Don't take advantage of your parents generosity. Whoever this teenager is....he/she is very fortunate to get money from their parents. They should get a job and buy a guitar with the money they make. It takes like a month to get $500+ if you work full time at a decent job.

Yeah, seriously, what a spoiled little bitch.

no, that seems selfish to me. they gave me money to have a future, not to shred.

Save it for college.
After college, get a good job. Now buy an even better guitar.

I'm a student. I've got no time or space for an amp!

I would use it for a car. If I wanted a guitar I would get a job (maybe two).
What?! There's a clean channel on my amp?!

Or you could buy a decent bike? I hear it helps with the running away from chavs.

yeah, but on the downside, if you get a bike you can never meet up with eric_fail, especially if you're a female tourist

Years ago, I probably would have just bought a guitar or amp or something.
Now...definitely save for university or at least for a cheap place to move out of home to. With a decent future you can earn that money back to buy the same guitar with.
#22
No. I'd get a job and save up for it.
I shall grant you three wishes.

None of which will work.

Does the above post enrage, offend or confuse you?

Good.

I like my women how I like my guitars. Curvy and like it when I finger them.

$5000 would cover about a semester's worth of classes. So it's not like I would be spending my entire college fund. I probably wouldn't feel bad buying a $1000-$1500 guitar, although I would only do it if my parents were okay with it.
