Hi, I'm really getting into a lot of old open g slide blues kind of stuff. I've got an acoustic, not sure what the string gauges are but I know it's got a wound g. The problem is, when I play slide, it really doesn't resonate that much at all, I've had this set of strings for like 2 years or something now, so I know that's why it sounds so dead, but I've notices that the unwound strings sound a lot better with slide as opposed to the wound ones. What would be the best kind of strings, maybe flatwounds or something??? I don't need people to suggest brands, just types, ie flatwounds, roundwounds, which material etc.
Thanks in advance, Dave

Flatwounds are my personal preference. Medium gauge withh an unwound G.

You may want to raise your action for better fret clearance too.
It's an opinion. It's subjective. And I'm right, anyway.
