I am looking to buy a modeling amp for recording and gigging with a band. I would like advice to choose between a Line 6 spider IV 75 watt, a Fender Mustang III and a Vox VT. I will be playing a gretsch electromatic corvette solid body, thanks, I play in a contemporary Christian band.

The vox!

Has solid cleans for a modelling and the distortion is good as well.

Easily good enough to gig with.

Probably the Vox, only cause I have no experience with the Mustang, which I hear is fantastic. Try them both out (not the Spider, not really worth the effort if you're not a total newb xP) at a local guitar center and decide from there.

The other guitarist in my band has a mustang and its nothing to write home about, we've done a side by side comparison with my vox ad100vt.

+1 to the vyper tube.

I'm sure I'm not going to see any support on this one here, but I vote for the spider.

My first amp was a Spider II 75-watt, and I loved that thing. I don't know why people shit on them.

But, as stated, the best advice is to give them all a go, and which one gives you the mojo.

I'd imagine the Vox VT would be a better fit given that he probably doesn't need high gain.

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.
