I'm trying to get into art therapy or considering expressive therapy vaguely, but anyone trying to get specifically into music therapy? I find the idea really interesting but I've never really looked into it - wasn't sure if patients/clients just bang around on (insert instrument) or genuinely learn to play something-or-other.

Yeah, I do a lot of expressive music therapy. It's called moshing to heavy ****ing metal. It's pretty fun. And expressive. Sometimes, though, it's hazardous to your health.

An aquaintance is studying to be one. Apparently, she did it after 9/11 (she lived nearby in the city and was really traumatized) and it helped her a lot...
