I find this disgusting. Why does a government feel that it has to torture then kill a 13 year old? He may be against the government, but their just making themselves even more unpopular.

The same reason they feel the need to torture everybody else. Yeah, its terrible, but what do you expect from a government that is torturing and killing its people?

That's like saying what's the difference between raping a 2 year old than a 30 year old, it's obvious, the 2 year old won't fight back.

Well in that case, he probably deserved some of TS's awesome word play to confuse them and render them helpless while he scampers away.

Because by most standards we don't allow people the ability to consent to sex until at least 16, they can't buy drink until 18 or sometimes 21, etc. Society's laws imply that a 13 year old isn't developed enough to make important decisions on their own, so torturing and killing one is like killing something for not committing a crime.

because he's a child who is:

not physically matured
not mentally matured
not as culpable given his ignorance of basically everything

See, I think it is worse, but this is a question I was pondering earlier. Someone said the kid isn't mature enough to be considered 'culpable', but if the thirty-year old is innocent, why is it worse?

The Syrian government's actions are atrocious regardless.

It's hardly the same though is it and pretty irrelevant. Why do you have to make everything about the west?

In regards to OP it's the same yeah. And because the media will constantly speak about the crimes commited in places like this, but they'll never say anything about the things that happens in our own governments that are equally corrupt and allow equally immoral things.

So because we have done wrong in the past gives another nation a carte blanche to do whatever the Hell it wants?

Argue however you will, but the killing of an innocent, be it one or 20,000 is never acceptable.

No, i never said it was okay. I'm pointing out that no one ever seems to take notice of the fact that our governments are equally as corrupt and allow equally terrible things to take place.
