Any reasons why this isn't OK to do? It's a peavey ultra plus half stack.
As long as you don't overload the power board I don't see any issues. I use surge protected power boards with damage insurance.
When I said "not a power strip," I meant that a power strip wouldn't protect your amp from over-voltages or small surges, not that you shouldn't use one. No need to start a new thread about it.
Just get a strip with surge protection, problem solved.
^ Not really. His power tubes blew up, which might have been caused by excessive voltage. A surge protector won't help with that, it only protects from very, very high surges. A power conditioner is going to do a lot more for your amp if you've got bad power.
