I'm an absolute begginner who is slowly making produce on singing in tune. I practise two things to help sing on pitch: I play a random note and sing it and I also practice scales. With matching a single note I know when I'm out of tune because the notes don't harmonise but if I play a scale then sing it I feel like sometimes i'm not singing even close to the notes I just played. Is the point of singing scales to sing along or to sing after the notes are played?

Try singing arpeggios instead of scales. And record yourself while singing along to them.

yawn as you breath in and keep that feeling in your stomach and your throat, slightly smile, focus and lift the back of your throat, imagine air flowing backwards and up right before you sing. Make the most comfortable ahhh sound as naturally as possible. That is how you sing
