what OD should I get for my 6505? I play metalcore and things like that. like attack attack or a day to remember. I know they suck but I like their tone.

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

A Tubescreamer. When it comes to boosting, they're all more or less the same pedal. I got my TS7 for $25 on ebay.

I've used three different OD pedals in front of my Valveking. A homemade TS808 a TS9 and a piece of junk plastic pedal that I can't remember the name of. They all sounded pretty darn close to one another. IMO you should get whatever is the best built one you can reasonably afford.

Klon Centaur.

This, but tubescreamers are also great, NOT a TS-9....
Get either a Ibanez TS-808 (way classier)
Maxon OD-808 (pretty much the same as the TS 808 but just that its maxon so its not as typical)
and if you really wanna be cool go for the MJM Phantom Overdrive..... WOW

The Maxon and Ibanez TS808s are 100% identical.
The TS9s are pretty much the same as the TS808s as well. The only difference is the box it's in.

I don't see how since they're the same pedal with just a few parts changes.

He simply wants to boost his 6550. I'm sure a TS-9 will suffice. It's pretty pointless to get a expensive overdrive for what he wants.

i use two, a ts9 and an OCD, honestly the ocd can do what the ts9 does and more, but its really a matter of what sound i want or if im feeling using one of them because they both do different things and i like them i use the ocd for when i just want a tighter sound and more low end thump with my gain lower, and the ts9 for real heavy stuff cuz its slightly less noisy
