Hey guys...

I have a ryhtm with power chords in Drop D, but i want add some octaves for lead guitar.

How i add them, follow the key, or do same notes that i do in ryhtm?

Yeah a lot of bands will just do a melody in octaves over a rhythm guitar riff, it's up to you to try to make one you like in key or just decide to mimic the rhythm in octaves!

What it asks like your asking, if when they play "octave" melodies. generally like this

G-15-17
D-x---x
A-13-15

Those are octaves. You can use any notes, but the notes you use, make them octaves apart. Say your in drop D, key of D minor. you can use any notes in D minor, hell, even notes outside of D minor, as long as it sounds good. But I believe thats what you meant with octaves

TS, this may be a silly question, but do you know what octaves are?
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.
