I want something I can play while lying in bed and not worry about it falling off or breaking. The action is more important than sound.

If used, I'd say a used Jackson JS, amazing guitars for the price really, Havn't been dissapointed with one yet. I also surprisingly played a dean that went for like, $199 and wasnt that that bad, not good, but certainly wasn't bad, It'd be a sweet backup axe.

for that price just get a squier man. with a little more you could maybe pull of a used classic vibe. if it was very used.

I fall asleep playing guitar a lot....Usually not even amped. I had a Squier that was my cheap guitar...Then it got a wicked drawing job on it, some new tuners, new pots and switch and a set of lace sensors....It is no longer my throw about

I was actually gonna do the Kitty thing but the series is discontinued so the guitar's going for like $300 on eBay. I was gonna get the $60 pups and $30 guitar and melt faces with my Hello Kitty Strat.

Ibanez RG120
- Agathis body. It's not bad, but try before you buy anyway.
- All Access Neck Joint so you reach the upper frets
- 24 XJ frets
- INF3 and INF4 pickups

Great for the price.

how can action be more important than sound? action is something you set yourself lol...

I think the TS is saying this might not be plugged in often and be played well laying in bed, just not plugged in often, or is planning on swapping a lot of stuff.

Any squier or low end Epi will do you well. If you can get a good SX I'd say go for it, I just have no experience with them.

Probably best to just not fall asleep and drop your guitar, that way you won't have to worry so much. Most guitars are resilient enough anyway, so if you do drop them they aren't going to fall to pieces. How high up is your bed after all?

Also, if you want a cheap guitar with good action (I assume you mean plays well overall rather than just has low strings), that's something you will probably need to pay for as cheap guitars rarely play like an absolute dream fresh out of the box.

I can support this because it was my first guitar. Block the trem and you have a super solid guitar to start out with. The pickups are actually rather good and such. I love mine to this day haha

I was going to say Rondo but then when you take into account shipping costs, you can't just buy a guitar for 200 bucks. You'd have to get something along the lines of 150 bucks and that wouldn't be worth it if you could just run to GC and pick up a cheap Ibby

Cool thanks. The color is awesome! I went and played a Squier today...They are surprisingly nice guitars. The SX's look nice as well. Probably made in the same factory.

The P90's are tempting

I can vouch for the RG120. First time I picked one up was at the store - I immediately thought it must have been second hand or damaged somehow for the price to be as low as it was.
Mind you I didn't know much about Ibanez guitars back then (had to ask what GIO meant).

If you're looking for something under the 200 dollar mark, then go for either the ESP LTD M-10 or EC-10. They're both well built and sound great.

I might be going a different route, if I sell my old amp tonight, might get an epi dot or casino. Little more unplugged volume.

Any guitar from the 80's made in Korea or Japan. Usually on ebay. I would highly consider this and not something modern made in China.

Agreed, but the Chinese have come along way as sad as that is to say. They manufacture good stuff, they just have poor quality control(On everything).

For $200 you won't get a good guitar (new) period. That budget gets you a beginner or student guitar. Secondly, playing while lying in bed will not help you learn how to play well. Poor technique and sloppy style will be the rsult of such lazy practice. Save yourself the money and put it towards Guitar hero or something.
Moving on.....

MusicRadar has done some great lists for different budgets over the past few years, ranging from 200 to 1000 pounds. There's some really great stuff in those lists, check them out!
Not all of these guitars will be available outside of Britain (I should know, I don't live over there).

13 kick-ass electric guitars under £200 - http://www.musicradar.com/tuition/guitars/13-kick-ass-electric-guitars-under-200-242309/1

The best electric guitars under £300 - http://www.musicradar.com/tuition/guitars/the-best-electric-guitars-under-300-213316/1

Take there claims of 'the best under ... pounds' with a grain of salt. That's definitely not true in most cases, but great lists none the less.
