I had a question,
I am making a guitar for my guitarist in my woodshop and the two types of wood I could use (without buying different stuff) is poplar or pine. I hear poplar is good for making guitars, but is it good with effects like distortion because that's what our band uses most of the time.

Just tell me if it is of isn't, I'm a drummer so I'm not good with this stuff...

Old Jackson Soloists were made with poplar... And Soloists are usually played with distortion. So yeah.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Poplar would be more ideal than pine as pine is relatively soft. Poplar tonally sounds the same as alder.

Most Parker's are made of poplar.
