Hi guys,

So I've got a bit of free time this summer and I was planning on getting myself a cheap bass to defret and just generally mess around with to see what happens. Mainly because:
1. I want something to do
2. I wouldn't mind a fretless to add to my collection

I was planning to get a second hand Squire but I came across this

It's a Hondo II Rickenbacker copy.

So now I have a dilemma, is the Rickenbacker any good? Should I just stick with my Squire idea, should I go for the Rickenbacker and defret it or should I go for the Rickenbacker, clean it up etc but not bother with the defretting?

What would you do?

Sketchy copies are always fun. I say get the Hondo. And when you try it out, if you would find it amazing, you could keep the frets on. No need to decide on that until you've actually played the thing.
