Thought of making this thread before haha...

Here's a couple of my favorites

Between the Sheets
1 part cognac ( I use courvoissier)
1 part light rum
1 part triple sec
Dash of lemon juice
Shake in mixer with cracked ice, pour into martini glass.

And then a personal creation:

Black Hole
1 part Raspberry vodka
2 parts blue curaçao
Pour over ice in old fashioned glass, add about 1/2 part lime juice, fill with cranberry/pomegranate juice. ****ing delicious.

My favorite mixed drink though, and the one I make the most, is a mojito.
My God, it's full of stars!

I'd love to do this kinda thing, but with bottles of liquer costing upwards of 60 bucks I can't afford to have a collection big enough to make nice drinks.

Delicious sounding. I have all of that too

This is a personal hobby of mine, to be honest. I love mixology and I like making new drinks.

Sometimes I prefer to drink beer, sometimes I prefer to make cocktails. Whatevs.

I have a small home bar with about 400-500 dollars worth of liquor, liqueurs, and mixers.

That sounds awesome, it's something I definitely want to get into, hopefully once I'm out of uni and in a decent full time job with my own place I can start thinking about it.

Bartending is manly as fuck.

For some reason I think it would be fun to have a little bar at home and make drinks for people, even though I haven't tasted any alcohol I liked.

Empty a can of Coke into the glass
Add a splash of Barcardi 151 at the top and add some lime.

I don't know how to make it but the Vesper (James Bond) Martini is awesome.

...modes and scales are still useless.

I hear the movie's ingredients aren't accurate of the real thing based on the author's descriptions.

Flaming Dr. Pepper
Fill shot glass with Amaretto.
Fill half a glass with beer.
Float a thin layer of 151 proof rum on top.
Light rum on fire, drop in beer, and drink it down.
Tastes like Dr. Pepper. Personally I just drink the shots though because I'm not a fan of beer.

Mojitos are always great.

Inspired by an Irish Carbomb and the liquor I had lying around.
2 parts Bailey's Irish Cream
1 part Southern Comfort
1 part Amaretto
1 part Kahlua
Layer in a shot glass and enjoy.

Godfather
Ratio is to taste but I prefer it as:
1 part Amaretto 1 part Scotch
Shake with ice, strain into a lowball glass.

I'll use disaronno for the amaretto and creme de cacao instead of kahlua

You can use any whiskey if you want... but SoCo gives it a slightly fruity taste so it's hard to replace and still have it taste proper.

Lol if that's how you like it. Personally I think Jameson is a little too... peaty? Not sure if that's the word I want but I prefer Jack.

EDIT: Not to say it won't work though. Personal taste and all.

1 part Bailleys
Pour over ice, fill with whole milk in old fashioned glass

Drinking tip for anyone

When I drink, I just have my bottle, and then something to sip on. Take a sip of your drink, keep it in your mouth, then sip the alcohol, and swallow it all. I guarantee you wont even taste the alcohol, and you can actually get almost a 1:1 ratio going on

I've always enjoyed a slight variation on the Rob Roy:

~1 shot Scotch whiskey
~1/2 shot sweet vermouth
a dash of maraschino liqueur (I never have bitters on hand )

Served on the rocks, preferably paired with a cigar.

My two favorite mixed drinks are the Whiskey Sour (I like some nice 100 proof bourbon in mine) and the Mojito. I had a mango mojito once and it was pretty awesome also, but the regular one is for me.

Whiskey Sour (my favorite way to make it):

-1.5oz whiskey/bourbon
-1oz sugar
-1oz lemon juice
-2oz water

Obviously, dissolve the sugar in the water and lemon juice before adding to the scotch. You can shake this drink, or stir it, and it must have lots of ice. The oak flavors of the whiskey/bourbon are the most prominent flavor, along with the tang of the citrus, so use your best one.

when I move out, I am so making a bar just to mix drinks.

a few of my favourites though:

-1/2 glass of Ginger ale
-white rum
-Pineapple juice, to taste

Mix it all together, and chill...very refreshing.

Ginger beer & Bourbon is excellent too

Okay if you're a bartender listen up cause I don't want tequila in my Blue Mother****er again.

it goes

1 part blue caracao
1 part absolute citron
1 part sweet n sour or lemon lime

Its delicious, everybody will want more, and bartenders consistently **** it up.
This is why I don't like arguing on the internet.

What's the original recipe? If the original calls for tequila, like an original martini calls for bitters, then you're a pussy
