no using finger joints maximizes movement and speed. its good as for TS just dont play with tension. It causing injury eventually and your not as accurate or fast. Just be sure to use the wrist and later if you want try using finger joints and a combo of wrist. Instead of translatory wrist movements try circle picking as well.

TS, generally I'd recommend using against finger movements to power your picking, in general your technique looks fine, except that you sometimes do two downstrokes in a row - which is a BIG no-no. ie, that limits you to whatever speed you can downpick twice.

So, make sure you're consistent, relaxed and smooth.

(personally I'd recommend against anchoring your fingers to the pickguard btw )
