I just started my Facebook page, and I'm trying to get more "likes," and I'm sure the rest of you are too. So lets help each other out...

For everyone who posts their Bands' FaceBook URL in this thread, I'll log into my FaceBook and "Like" their page. If we all do this for each other, we should all be able to increase our likes significantly.

Here's mine: http://www.facebook.com/ChrysalisBand

This is quite possibly the dumbest idea I've seen in a while, including The Pit. Having "likes" on FaceBook doesn't mean jack if they were gathered in this manner.

I don't know it' doesn't sound that bad to me, my band doesn't have a facebook page already, but if it have one, probably I would do this.

do you wanna hear a little piano composition I have just made?, I promise it don't totally sucks, you can hear it on my profile, any feedback would be really appreciated -C4C

I don't think it is a bad idea. If people like my band, other people see that in the person's news feed, they give us a listen, maybe buy one of our songs in the future. It's all about exposure.

It's just another way to promote your music (hopefully). Whenever somebody "likes" something on FB, it shows up on their wall; John Doe likes Band X. Maybe one of John Doe's friends sees the like, wonders who Band X is, and checks them out.

Also, having more "likes" is nice when you're trying to get booked. Promoters see it, and it looks more professional.

Anyways, if you don't want to participate, or you don't think it's a good idea, then cool, but lets not clog up this thread with a bunch of posts debating the idea. Instead, people who want to try it out, can post their artists' page and will exchange "likes." If no one is interested, then this thread will die in peace.

EDIT: sammo_boi I went ahead and Liked your band.

And TS, I think it's a great idea. Don't worry about the guy up the top. If we keep this thread moving it may attract some attention too.

Consider yourself liked. I actually did as well. I thought the first track was really really cool. It's just about the only spoken word thing that I've ever heard that I've not just flicked past. Would make a great intro or outro for a record.

Anyway, I have just started a challenge with a friend of mine. We have challenged each other to spend the next year working hard musically. We've always played lots of music and written lots of songs, but we've never really pushed it. I'm writing a blog to document the year to give other bands ideas on how to gain more of a fan base.

My personal facebook page, started today can be found here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Coben/228591167152367?sk=app_2405167945 and has 9 tracks from my bands album.

I also want to get as many people involved in this as possible. I want everyone to try and start a community where we as musicians help push each other over the course of a year to make something of our music. My blog which details this is on that FaceBook site =D

Make sure when you like a band you're using FB as yourself, and not using it as your band. If you like a page as your band, the like number won't increase for the page you just liked.

I made sure I got everybody in the thread so far. I just liked the following:
Hybrid 6.0
Exit of the Envious
Earth Bound
The Light Iris

Were you talking about my band? If not I apologize, but I assumed so because of your mention of Live. I would love to put a show together sometime!!! You guys have some great music.

Shit I quoted the wrong person! Yeah I meant you, haha. Thanks man, were going to try to head back down that way and Jay was thinking of booking us with a few other bands in a few venues around your area. When it happens Ill shoot you a PM and maybe we can see if we can play a show together or something. At the very least chill with a fellow UG'er.
