I was wondering what you guys think of this amp. I could easily just Google a review, but I trust UG'ers opinions more. I do wanna hear the good things, but I mostly wanna hear the bad things, if there are any. Thanks.

Not a bad practice amp... but that would strongly depend on what you are using it for.

There are quite a number of people on UG who use it, but prefer to have its parts like tubes and speakers changed.

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

It's a good amp if you add pedals or a multifx. On it's own, it doesn't have much character or variety of tone.

its good in the fact that there are tons upon tons of mods you can do to it electronically, different tubes, and different speakers, etc. you can mod the hell out of them.

so yea, they are cool amps.

Add to this that they take pedals incredibly well and sound nice stock anyway. I've used the head with a 2x12 with V30s for gigging before with a blues band and it's a great little amp. Plus it's nearly 4 years old and still going strong, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Great amp if you want to start modding amps. Pretty good for the price if you're buying used.

+1, exactly.

it's a great pedal platform, if you already have a bunch of pedals. on its own, it's a bit meh.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
