I own a ESP Edwards AL-166 Pink sawtooth which has scalloped frets from 20 to 24 (5 Frets and i love them. So that got me thinking on a project guitar...

A cheap flying v, bolt on neck with no binding and dot inlays
How easy would it be to DIY scalloping across the neck on a fret board with no binding and dot inlays using a Die grinder, electric sander or something similar to get the desired scalloping.
Also would using a normal wood varnish be ok since my fingers shouldn't be touching the fretboard anymore?

Remember this is a project guitar for shits and giggles

Check out 'The GB&C Central Hub / Essential Links thread [Updated 7-28-10]' sticky. It has a link in the tutorial section.

Stickied threads are like the search bar... Underused.
