I just started playing guitar and everytime I try to strum a chord, one or more of the strings sounds muted because my hand is always touching another string. I tried different hand positions, but nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?

Get an instructor. There is nothing that even comes close to someone seeing exactly what you're doing incorrectly and being able to rectify it before it becomes a serious problem (coming from someone who's self-taught and had to relearn everything thanks to improper technique).

Yeah I'm going to keep practicing, still having trouble with it. If I'm still getting no where after a week or so I'll get lessons.

I had exactly the same problems mate when I started playing and it took a long time to get it right and even now I still do it from time to time. Practice makes perfect or get tuition if you want faster results
