Looks like a TOM but it's sitting on top of a strip of wood? Also, why doesn't his bigsby have a tension bar?

floating?

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

It looks like a typical Gretsch bar bridge for a Bigsby Vibrato.

Thanks for the answers. I'm looking at the Gretsch rocking bar bridges, but they don't appear to have the saddle screws like this one does, so I don't think it's that. Also, why no tension bar on his bigsby?

it's an archtop bridge with a tune-o-matic set into it.

Awesome, thanks. Are you absolutely sure he's not using a roller bridge? And what advantage does the archtop bridge give? I'm wanting to put a bigsby on a 339, would this set up work for that?

i wouldn't do that if it didn't have a bigsby to begin with.

you'll have to drill into the body.

check out vibramate.
or stetsbar.

I don't care about drilling into the body, mainly because this guitar had 2 previous owners. One put a bigsby on it, and the other had it removed! There are already filled in screw holes. I don't plan on doing it myself, I'll have a luthier do it

But my question was regarding the bridge, not whether or not to add a bigsby. I already made up my mind on that.

you can use a roller bridge on the bigsby.

it depends on which bigsby you get. they recommend different bridges.

you probably won't be able to do the archtop bridge though since the guitar is set up for a tune-o-matic. It won't be able to handle the extra height of the wood mount.

I'm not asking if I can use a roller bridge, I'm asking it that's what he's using. As for the wood mount, I thought the harmony h77 and h78 was a clone of a 335, and the 339 is just a scaled down version of that?

i haven't seen a 335 with an archtop bridge in a while.

definitely not with a stopbar.

i think you'd be able to do it with a trapeze or a bigsby maybe? I've seen a couple like that.
