See how the pickups are mounted? Is this because they are a different size to conventional humbucker, or how is this done?

To get what I mean, instead of this:

The maple top makes the humbucker fit snug, like a pickguard would. Is this possible with conventional pickups to get this snug fit, or are these pups designed differently?

It looks like they are screwed from the side, but is this look achievable with conventional pups?

the 513s are bigger then normal pickups.

It is possible to direct mount pups but there will usually be some space.

otherwise you wouldn't be able to get the pickups in.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but the tightness around the pickups of the prs looks really nice, so I wanted to replicate it
