I really had no clue where to put this but The Pit seems to be where it will have the most exposure. I don't really want to intrude or seem like I'm trying to ask the question "I'm bored, what should I play?" type crap that too often pops up. Yes I'm guilty of this too; however, what I want to do is to create a list of songs that Mandolin players should check out and try to learn. The Mandolin is a fine instrument that can be used in lots of music but I want every types of music with every thing from beginner to expert.
Example:
Maggie May- Rod Stewart: Beginner
Copperhead Road- Steve Earle : Beginner/Intermediate

... etc. Go!

Geordie in Wonderland by The Wildhearts.

Haven't heard that song in a while but I'm pretty sure there's a Mandolin part.

I don't think so, but "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" does.

Rawhide is hard as shit... I've been playing mandolin for 7 or 8 years and it's still one of those I have to take a deep breath for...

Also, it's short but seems long when it gets hard.

"Dance Tonight" by Paul McCartney.
"Up on the Ridge" by Dierks Bentley (Dierks is traditionally a country artist, but this is from his bluegrass album.)
All the way from Palm Springs, just out of detox.
Show him a warm welcome, let's hear some applause
