So I just watched the film 'Scott Pilgrim vs The World' a couple of days ago for the first time and I absolutely loved it, I even found myself wishing to have a life like that.

I was just wondering how the graphic novels compare to the awesomeness of the film and whether it's worth getting them, I need something new to read

I guess this could be considered a thread to discuss all things Pilgrim

C'mon guys, share the love!

I just watched it not too long ago. I loved it too. Scott jumping out the window was hilarious!

I've never read the comics, but people who have seem to like them.

I loved the movie when I watched it. Then I read the comics and loved them even more than the movie.

I enjoyed the film. I'm also loving the game soundtrack by Anamanguchi.

I only watched the movie and i don't know if I liked it or not :/ It was a really well made film but all the characters were annoying hipster douchebags. I'll check it out again.

Both the movie and the comic books had their good points about them. I liked the books more because it was more in depth but you have to keep in mind that they had to compress the story into an hour and a half. The movie came out almost a year ago, do you live under a rock or something, OP?

I just never got round to watching it, that's all.

Films pass by me like traffic, I usually end up watching them a year or two late

Basically, the comics take place over about a year, compared to the movie which probably happens over the course of a couple of weeks to a month.

That means, you basically have time to get more attached to the characters instead of just being shown these brief glimpses of them. That being said, Julie still just has issues.

I know just about every funny line from this movie.

Though I agree, the comics were a good deal better. It's basically the movie with about 6000 deleted scenes and a few more or less small plot changes.

I don't know why but I absolutely hated this movie...

The whole thing just seemed really silly and immature and unnecessary. Am I completely alone on this?

Me mines on a more abstract reason. Such as, why don't people move on after they break up with Ramona Flowers. They instead form some league of c*ckblockers like it's the just thing to do

I went into the movie expecting shit. It turned out to be incredible though. Soundtrack is great. The comics are apparently really good also so i'd recommend reading them. I read halfway through the first one while at my friends house once and enjoyed it alooooot.

I started watching it the other night, I need to finish it because it was great so far. Not read any of the books though, if they're good I might buy some when I buy the movie.

Its pretty good. I'm glad Michael Cera gets a bad rep, so i go to his movies with low expectations.

One of my favorite films (probably my favorite of last year). The graphic novels are amazing in every way. They have wayy much more subplots and is very in-depth. The video game is also extremely fun and has one of the best soundtracks ever.

Also, I am definitely not a fanboy...

Oh, and for those who don't mind breaking the law and taking away money from Bryan Lee O'Malley, I found a torrent of the books online. I'm not gonna post it in here for good reason, but it's out there...
